On this side of the pond we use 3M-77 spray glue. This 3M glue is contact cement that is solvent based. Solvent based glues will not cause the card stock to warp. I press the glued card stock between two sheets of glass or thick Plexiglas to insure that the card stock dries flat. Rather then use the course card stock found in cereal boxes I use 2 sheets of 64-67 Lb (140 GSM) card stock to make 0.5 mm stock and 4 sheets to make 1 mm stock. When finished the card stock is exactly .5 and 1 mm thick. You will find that depending on how the thick card stock is being used that the thickness can affect the fit of other parts in a model. You will also find that this made up card stock is almost like working with sheet styrene plastic.
