@Chris: bridging SMF and OSCommerce in Joomla could be a pain. If this is your goal, you are in time to convert everything directly in Joomla with dedicated Cart (VirtueMart), forum (FireBoard) and Gallery (RSGallery2).
@JTF: I thought Pep3 was free for Pep2 owners. I think I will remain in Pep2.
