F 107 A Ultra Sabre

This is a new model of the F107 A Ultra Sabre that I decided to design and build. I was drawn into this build by the lines of the plane. I found them interesting. Only four of these planes were built and two survive. When I went looking for a model in paper I could not find one. So I started a design build. This is the result of four days of design and mockups. I am fairly happy with mock up and will move on to fine tuning the fits and alignement of the parts.

This is an overall look at the mockup on the unwraps.

This is the sketchup model of the formers.

and here are the cut and fitted formers

Plane from front

The front mast is a sanded down paper rod.

Rear of fuselage and wing details

Rear details. The stencil are 1:72 scale now but I will finish
this in 1:32 so the vectored stencils will be ledgeable.
Canopy
These are the Illustrator file images of the various
canopies I am going to try. These are printed on
Transperiencies.

This page is printed on sticker label 8.5 x 11 and
applied on the inside and the outside of the canopy
Then I fold the Transpareny film over hard with tweezers
and it holds its shape. This is possible because this canopy is
hard lined and not spherical in shape.

I have been playing around with a new canopy look so I thought I would try it out on this model

Canopies on the plane ready to mount.

Mounted on mock up

This is the first generation mock up white with colored wing parts
the fuselage formers are in the foreground. I build the mockups with
just paper strips and stuff it with cotton balls to give it shape

I hope to finish this soon.
