Great choice !. The Daring class (UK and Australian units) was a design of inmediate post-war and her design are the results of the experience gained during the conflict.
I think thatīs a very good model to construct, and the ship has a plus; is really nice and handsome.
About the deck color, usually in the war and inmediate post-war time the british destroyers used a grey paint, darkest than hull sides and superestructure (maybe G10 ?).
I saw a few photos long time ago (in the late sixties) with decks of some destroyers and frigates painted in a grayish- green and Peter Hodges book confirm that colour still in the early seventies.
