You don't suppose part C23 ought to be shaped? The many cuts seem to imply that.

The instructions seem to say something about shaping, a drop of water, and mounting on the cowling according to the photos of the model or the real thing.

Trouble is I haven't found any photos of either the model or the full-size that show the underside of the cowling. But there is one photo of the model showing a bulge resembling part C23 on the top of the cowling, slightly off-center. And I found one full-size which shows the same thing. (Source: Dalotel DM-165)

In that case I suppose the white area of part C23 is meant to be kept while shaping, then cut clean. Might be a good way of shaping parts like these!

But I don't know what to do with the area where you glued the part. Something obviously is meant to be done with it after final assembly. Perhaps cutting out an opening?
