I suppose you could. I just print multiple model pages per page of coverstock. Since I know that 65lb stock is ideal for my 1/144 scale builds, I just use that instead of an unknown index card thickness.
I would also recommend that you print one copy of the model on regular bond paper, then cut off the "tabs" of your card model, and use the adjoining section of the bond paper as a joiner strip. (Just the voice of experience!) It will make a huge difference in how smooth your seams are, especially in the smaller scales.
