Rescale, continued

Ron: PM is on its way to you, with many thanks!

Here is a statement of the problem if anonre else would like to weigh in!! :

I have the Estutan kit of the I400 submarine in 1:400 scale. I would like to resize it and build it in 1:200 or possibly even 1:160.

The original kit is kit is printed on 4 A4 sheets.

Using IRFANVIEW, I was able to resize it (2x) into .jpg images without any apparent loss of image quality. However, the print size is approximately 16” x 23” ( 40.6 x 58.5 cm) . Although my friend at the printshop says that he will have no problem printing the enlargement in colour on 18” x 24” Arch 3 architectural paper , I have some concerns and would like to take out some “insurance” and be able to print the parts out on 11” x 17” or, even better, 30 cm x 42 cm stock (12 x 18”) . The number of pages in the rescale doesn’t matter.

This will require cutting and pasting the parts from the resized .jpgs to fit them onto appropriately-sized stock. I’d like to section the latitudinal and longitudinal hull formers, as these will have to be laminated in any event.

I am not good enough with PAINT or Photoshop to be able to do this by myself.

Thanks for your help!

Jim
