There are 3 layers of thick paper that will nest into each other to form the outer shell. What you see here is the outer layer.

It seems that all of the details underneath are lined up pretty good.

The gap between the heatshield and the outer shell will be filled with rings; part of which will be the upper edge of the heatshield. This is what will allow the outer shell to be removed to expose the crew compartment.
