You could try to laminate it with household aluminium foil. You have to be very carefull when you glue it on, but you can't get a more realistic metal finish than with real metal. Plus you can polish it to any desired degree of shine. Just make sure that the surface is really smooth before, like Zathros pointed out. Hardening the paper before with superglue won't be a bad idea, too, as you'll have to press a bit against it.
