Hi Ultra Stone,

Looks like you are off to a good start. Using some Super Glue to surface harden the paper will allow you to sand it smooth in preparation for either silver metallic paint or using aluminum foil to cover it as the others have advised you.

The lack of a hilt or guard leads me to believe that the knife that you saw was probably a cobbled together job rather like what is called a "shiv" over here. One that is made in a home workshop to be easily concealed for one use then tossed away. Also the lack of a "blood groove" on the knife blade itself shows the one use theory of operation, not too concerned about being able to easily remove it once stuck in. While these two later developments show better engineering to allow repeated use, they no way affect the primary intended purpose.
