Okay so I did another generation based on the comments I read, This is a fully articulated gun carriage, I plan on cutting a hole in the rear top of the fuselage to match this so it will rotate. The vac form canopy was a quickie, I did this by cutting a hole the proper diameter in a piece of balsa, then double faced taped a piece of blister packing that I salvaged from who knows what. Put the balsa on top of the shop vac hose and turned it on. Took heat gun and applied heat, slowly... then pressed the shape I wanted as the vacuum sucked the heated plastic into a perfect sphere. The whole operation took about 30 minutes, most of the time was spent locating all the stuff. . Got it on the first try, Then took a #80 drill bit and chucked it into a dremel and used it free hand to follow the lines I drew on dome with fine tip sharpie. Steady hands help here.
Anyway this is the result. At the end I posted a video of the gun rotating so you could see the articulation
