N & HO Scale
Bob,
Here in the USA N scale is 1: 160 or 1 inch = 13.33 feet
and HO scale is 1:87.1 or 1 inch = 7.25 feet
Already given data (1/2" amd 7/8") would be fine for residences
Commercial (stores and business) many times use 7 foot doors there
5/8" and 1" would be closer.
Suggest you check our model RR store for a scale ruler, attached is
picture of my N scale ruler.
