You paid 20k as in 20,000 dallars to make something? aaaaa...I don't know what to say to that. As for my boat, this whole boat is only 22 inches long. It will not cost more than 400 to make in full. As for casting. Most of these parts are actually very strong and flexible due to thickness, scale and the material. As I said it's a nylon resin plastic. They aren't that large. The largest part is the hull which will be about 3mm thick. I am going to reinforce it with fiberglass and bulk heads. As for weight and playability I have a boat that weighs a hell of a lot more and floats. It's not about weight for RC conversion, it's about ballasting and buoyancy. They make boats out of cement that float due to water disbursement. I have used cast resin that broke more easily. However, all that to say I am very much considering making molds for the sake of cost saving and reinforcing with metal rods and such.
