Vermin_King - Yes I intend to use them as gaming figurines. This way I can use true to scale buildings/trees, etc and they will look 'correct'. I have my 1:1000 train set complete, I will be printing it out soon. The Mechs will look quite good next to the tiny trains.
AndyDuframe - I've just started to work in this scale, focusing on gaming/hex terrain for Battletech. It is a nice scale. I have in the works some squad/soldier markers, although they'll only be 2mm tall once done.
