Now I'm thinking that I can make something like this the lazy way buying stuff at Home Depot - isn't there a watery-texture plastic for windows?

Inspirational!
Vermin_King said (in a PM) that Wargamers use florescent liting panels for this cheap effect - this is exactly in line with my lazy-aesthetic. :-) Here's the panel I just bought for <$7.00 at home depot:

Under that I placed the "water only" side of a Paizo map: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8otu?G...erfront-Tavern

And dropped on my Sea Dragon from Fat Dragon Games: The Sea Dragon FDG0111 Fat Dragon Games

Here I put a free ship on the same 2'x3' space. http://cardboard-warriors.proboards....ad=3388&page=1

A bit crowded, but fun.

None of this looks anywhere near as amazing as the home-built Joe711's 1800s Harbor, but the total was $20.00 and no effort on my part.
