I first tried it perched on a Biro and found that it's feet gripped quite well. By curling the claws around the plant with tweezers it gripped tight, so Jenny Wren has now found a permanent home, but she isn't glued in place.
I made the Wren from 120gm card, not paper, so it is quite sturdy. I doubt if these clumsy old fingers would be able to perform well with paper as you are using for the Firecrest. I must explore my shed to see if I can find the Firecrest I made last year. It will probably look good on the same plant.
Pending that, I could always make another one ... or two, but I think the Bee-Eaters will be next.
