Alan Rose - DC-3 Cockpit

I was asked to donate a model for a Christmas charity action and decided that the Alan Rose DC-3 would be striking model as well as an easy build. Suffering from the common modelers disease known as NATLWEA (Not able to leave well enough alone).
I decided that the model needed a cockpit with clear windows. 3 months later I am presenting the fist colored test build of the cockpit.

The cockpit instrumentation is a cross between a commercial DC-3 in the late 1930's and an early C-47. I made little attempt to make an exact model basically because I did not have any detailed drawing of the cockpit lay out. Everything was done from various photos on the net. The coloring I used is in keeping with the art deco look of the model.
The amount of detail is also in keeping with the model more could be added but I doubt if it could be seen through the windows.

Some of the kit parts have been redrawn and modified so that the cockpit could be added to the model. the first photo is the rear bulkhead of the nose of the model. The bulkhead was scaled down to fit the rear of the nose and turned around and is the support for the deck of the cockpit. second photo is a test build in white of the bulkhead and nose showing the deck mounted on the bulkhead. Literally every thing attaches to the bulkhead and slides into the nose of the model. The white box on the back of the bulkhead houses the detail that could be seen through the cockpit door.
