I’m glad to see several of you are as excited about this model as I am. I’ve been a hard core B-17 fanatic since I was a young child so I really want to get these right.
This model will be in 1/48 scale just like the B-24s and Stratoliners. I always include reduction percentage information for those who may want to scale them down to 1/72 or 1/87 scale.
Issac, I wasn’t planning to do separate control surfaces. My background is in illustration so my engineering skills are pretty basic. I’ve posted a detail shot of one of the Stratoliner vertical stabilizers so you can get an idea of what the B-17 control surfaces will eventually look like. And don’t worry, no “petal” engine cowls on this one. I always thought that was a strange design choice on the Fly B-17G. If you check out my B-24s and the Stratoliner on ecardmodels you will get a good idea of how these kits will look and go together.
