Smile need help on a medieval clock that really works

HI I was hoping that someone here could shed some light on this problem I am having with my clock.

is is a Wrebbit the medieval clock that really works. It is all together and hung on the wall the problem is this. the instructions say 2.2 kilos of weight and to use 450 pennies. does this mean 2.2 kilos per weight or total.

the weights broke off the other evening so now I am stuck......

any advise for me would be oh so grateful...
