Thumbs up Mig 15 construction start

First up on the build is the Hobby Model Mig-15 ( catalog number 99 ).

It is all silver with the Polish markings and a nose number. The silver finish on this kit is great. It is matt ( not shiny ) and looks good. If any improvement can be done is to make different panels in different shades of silver and maybe some weathering.

The Fuselage is simple barrel like sections ( all round ).

I started in the back. For this build, I am forced to make the air brakes bays as the part is in white and must be cut out. This is a bit delicate since the section is thin. However, it is manageable.

The engine exhaust is a simple cone and cylinder with an end plate ( I used the laser cut frame part ). The main trick was to insert a card disk in the tail and apply quick super glue around. This is Yoav's trick to keep the cylinder shape from deforming.

It is then inserted in the tail with only a tiny portion extended beyond the fuselage.
