Before I post the pics of the birds in the bush, I found these pics I had forgotten about of a bird I am sure most of you will be aware of - the Hoopoe!
Johan Scherft has a nice paper model, and once upon a time (but I think no more) they were a common sight in Europe and the UK when they migrated up. I think no more though - I have certainly never seen any on my trips to that part of the world.
We have a couple around, but they stick to the pavements and NEVER come onto the garden. Why I do not know - all the other worm eaters rush in. I have not been able to get pictures of them - most frustrating.
The other day I was on my way to work early and just drove out of the house when I spotted them having breakfast and got these pics.
The early bird does I guess catch the worm!
