In regards to question 1: I like clear 3D drawings myself. Notes on sequence if different than assembling by part number would be helpful. For plastic kits, I have always found wingnut wings instructions to be the best. They have all of them on line on their website here:

In regards to question 2: I like when there are fewer drawings on a page with more detail in the drawings. I can always conserve paper by printing two pages per sheet if needed.
