Thumbs up Use report: Fiskars Micro Tip Scissors

Last week I reported that I got a pair of Fiskars Micro Tip Scissors for Christmas. Wyvern asked for a use report, so here's my impressions of them.

They are available in USA from Wal-Mart and Bed, Bath & Beyond, both in the store and online. Probably available in other craft and hobby shops also. In USA, about $13-17. On Fiskars website, several color handles available.

The scissors have two unique features: First, the handles are straight like pliers instead of finger loops. The ones I got are spring loaded, and be locked closed. I have Osteo Arthritis in my hands, and sometimes it's hard to hold regular scissors. These are much easier for me to grip and squeeze together.

The other neat feature is the "micro tip". The blades are only 2" long and come to an almost needle-sharp point. I'm currently working on a ship which I calculated as 1/335 scale (weird scale, go figure!) so some parts are quite small. The micro tips easily cut the little triangular flaps for curved pieces.
Overall, I'm very happy with them and highly recommend investing in a pair.
