If you're using hot glue to give time to adjust frame parts so that they are at right angles it might be worth tackling this in a different way. I use a piece of graph paper laminated to 1mm card and cut out right angle shims (small right angle triangles) of card. You can use normal white glue and the shims ensure the frame parts are at right angles.
