[Paper Kosmonaut]

A little further again. Yesterday, I gave the single wheel I had made its rim. It is quite detailed, and looks great. I only had to remove the white strip on the inside of the tire to get the rim inside of the tire. After that it all went on again and there it was.
Today, the side skins were added, the wheel wells were made and well, that was one full sunday afternoon well spent.
I changed the number on the vehicle to one I saw on an original photo of the Zil. Maxim has given this model the same number (14) as the Cabin-carrier and the 'screwy' vehicle which can be carried along at the back of the Zil. They should all have different numbers. Anyway, that was an easy change in Photoshop. Although the first version I printed apparently was a significant lot smaller than the original print. I don't really know what causes this, but I managed to eventually create one that had the same size.
Fit still is exceptionally precise and one really has to take great care in placing each part. On the other hand, there is some margin in certain spaces, because you can round the edges a lot where necessary and that makes ends literally meet where you first had gaps. The only hard place in this part of the build were the inner curves of the wheel wells. But that too went well in the end.
I really am curious on how the bottom parts will go on. The sides on the front have these curved round sections where I guess I will need something to back it up from behind to get the central part and the sides meet up correctly. Let's sleep on that for a couple of days... (-:
