Good day.
Update on the 2015 Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Race car.
It's been a bit slow on the modeling front this week, as some other things took precedent.
Finally got to install the nose faring to the body. The hardest part was getting that free floating part of the front suspension installed into it's slot in the nose. The easiest way was to slide that middle suspension into it's slot first. Then slide on the top and bottom suspension and glue into place.

Now to start on the construction of the down force wing.

One thing to remember, pull the glue tabs tight through the slots before folding them down and gluing in place. This helps to keep the wing square and tight.

Here is the installed wing. I still had to tweak the airfoil a bit after this first shot.

More airfoils were then constructed and installed around the side air intakes. The outside ones, after the folds, still require a 30 deg. twist to align with the air intake. After shaping them, glue the bottom to the pan first, then tweak them to align with the air intake and glue in place.
More airfoils were also added to under the nose.

Moving on to the mirrors and the front cameras. These are the last parts for this section of the build.

The tolerances of these mirrors are quite tight. Make sure you kept the cuts for the glue tabs right to the fold line. If you are short the back piece of the housing will be too short, and do work them tight.
When dry the arm is shaped and the mirrors and their deflectors can be installed into their slots. Lastly the construction and install of the front cameras.
This is where I am at right now.

We're getting down. These are the last detail pieces to be installed, before we start on the wheels and final assembly.

Thank you for following.
Questions and comments welcome.
