Darius and I attended the Toronto TORCAN contest today. Always great time spending with him and talking shop, history etc...
Relatively medium size contest. There were around 400+ models on display. All plastic except my 3 paper models.
I talked to the management and the head jundge and decided to display the models in the aircraft scratch built category. They said I can enter for display only. However when the show was over, I won 2nd place for the Super Mystere and 3rd place for the FJ-1 Fury. My Mig-9 did not place. First place went to a plastic mostly model of a French steam powered 19 century design Clement Ader's Eole ( that never flew ). The workmanship was fantastic though.
Here is my Super Mystere, 2nd place
FJ-1 Fury, 3rd place
Mig-9, no place
and the plastic 1st place winner.Clement Ader's Eole
More pics later.
