Most of the warplanes carried the lower part (wings and fuselage) of the color similar to the sky, so as not to be observed from below
Apparently, Manfred von Richtofen painted a bright red his tri-plane, so that the enemy recognized him immediately and was afraid of his valor and skill in combat.
My model will look like this, all red.
It seems more romantic, although it may not be true.
