I just got the Squadron catalog yesterday and saw that. $60.00 isn't too bad for both kits. I probably paid close to thirty for the bomber re-supply set alone. I've been using it for reference for eventual card model versions.
If memory serves me right, the star on the hood of the bomb truck was actually applied with gas detecting paint and should be yellow in color.
Airfix does make a set of 1/72 USAAF personnel set. The molds are pretty old (1960s) and for some reason they are molded in soft plastic.
