B-17C 40-2072 - New Reprint of Book on Bakers Creek Crash

The current issue of Air Power History has a review of Robert S. Cutler, The Bakers Creek Air Crash: America's Worst Aviation Disaster of the Southwest Pacific War (Bloomington, IN: Xlibris, 2016, The Bakers Creek Air Crash (originally published as America’s Worst Aviation Disaster in Australia, Brisbane: Boolarong Press 2014 http://www.boolarongpress.com.au/con...asp?bookid=802).

B-17C 40-2072 had been pressed into service as a troop transport. On 14 June 1943, it crashed on take off from Mackay on the Australian north coast, killing 40 of the 41 men on board.
