I can relate. With work, they were making changes to the server in Sacramento in preparation to get off Comcast Business (Thank you, Lord), only they got me bumped from the VPN. Got that sorted out, then the power supply died. New power supply caused the server to reset, so all the info was out of sync with the authentication server in SoCal and the backup server in Novato.
I'm just glad it isn't my job to sort that kind of stuff out
