It's not a cost factor - I have U-Verse and it takes only seconds to do it. But I just checked, and I have at least 6.8gig worth of model files. True, I have bought 30 or 40 of them off various online sites.
I'm not really concerned - I'm just curious how others view this habit of collecting all the freebies that we can.....

Only 6.8 gigs, you are just starting to collect. At last count I have over 20 gigs in my paper models folder. Some duplicates and a lot of scans of my purchased commercial kits.
I as a rule I do not build any downloaded models I’m too fussy about the quality (average) of my printer. But I do down load them just to see how the designer went about creating the model. For me it is a glance in to the mind of the designer and I often see new solutions to building paper models.
