I use next size up cover stock I could find with my local store-it's 67lb variety and I blow model as big as possible to fill the page.Single engine planes in this scale are far too small for my fingers.
As for that part I would have to see it.Likely it's tail wheel boot as gunsight was a telescopic type ( tube).
