Not sure if it is on this model, but the steam engine driving this ride from it's middle bay would indeed have been a traction engine if it was part of a mobile fair. So there would have been a trailer or two lurking nearby, and probably a living van too.

Back in the '50s these road trains were still legal to move from town to town, and what a spectacle they were ... but, as I hear it, you need a special 'Parade' licence just to run a steam engine on the road now. Very unlikely a 3 or 4 trailer train would ever be allowed to run again. Especially on the crap Tarmac roads we have now.

Nice build Mike. It will go nicely with Chandler's Fair if it can be scaled to 00 scale.
