And on. For the canopy to be a good fit a little bit of surgery was required on the fuse- a small vee cut to allow the fuse to pull in a bit. See photo.
Lining up the wing's correct fore and aft position I knew was gonna be a challenge so decided the best way to achieve this was to make sure the four wing strut attachment points aligned. The design provides four printed little oval shapes to help here.
The main centre pylon's position on the fuse allows more variation than it's wing join, so I spot glued to the wing to check incidence. The Catalina has a fairly pronounced positive incidence angle (this contributes to it's tail-high appearance in flight) but the angle on here was a bit too much (see sixth photo). The easiest way out was to cut down the forward top of the pylon a bit. Didn't remove too much- see pics.
While waiting for pylon/wing joint to dry I did the waist blisters- look pretty good.
