Sim's Scrooge is the best...there is no argument from me.
But I was always bothered by the quality of that film.
Even for 1951...it looks like it was filmed in the 1920s.
The low cine quality ruins it for me.

A Christmas Story really doesn't do it for me.
In fact, I never understood the hype around that one.
I watched it last December, and although it was nice to see Daren McGavin again, I didn't like it.
The story is just full of sadness (if you ask me). Its not a happy film.

National Lampoon's Vacation and Christmas movies are iconic in American comedy and film.
Las Vegas, and European Vacations were okay, but weak sequels.
Christmas Vacation is all about Holiday fun and frustrations we can all relate to.
Love him or loathe him, Chevy Chase was a prat fall master and comedic legend.
That whole period in the 70s and 80s, with the National Lampoon, Saturday Night Live
and the Not ready for Primetime Players is an extremely important part of American Movie and TV Comedy history.

When it comes to Christmas movies...there are many good ones that I enjoy seeing over and over
...like Scrooged, The Grinch, Christmas Vacation and The Santa Clause

but if I could only watch one movie each year,
it would have to be Its A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart.
There is no more touching film.
"Stop it! I'm not crying...you're crying!"
