Dad was XO of DD-840 Glennon for a couple years.
He was on 3 different "rehabbed World War Two leftover" DDs, 2 Sumners and a Gearing, which was more or less a lengthened Sumner. They were DD779 Fox, DD694 Ingraham, & DD840 Glennon.
He had more fun on destroyers, said they were just simply his kind of ship.
