I ordered and have the little servos in hand. I have an old Arduino Nano for the control board...But, I was thinking maybe I should start with something a little less complex to cut my teeth on. I was looking at some qaudruped walker designs when it hit me. I should do a biped, like the old wind up toys. I came across a few videos like this one:
Already made from paper, and with a simple dc motor for power! This would fit perfectly in a design like Chani:
I think this would be a less ambitious, yet good stepping stone to a full on hex with a complex Tank Bot body on top.
