I use size 18 blunt needles and I do thin down Aileen Tacky Glue (silver bottle), to make it flow easier. I like to metal needles because I can run a .030 wire in to remove any dried glue.
I fill the Henna bottle 3/4 full and put in several (10 max) drops of water. I've made a glue shaker out of a cheap-o jig saw with a big pill bottle attached to a blade with electrical tape. I run it about a minute to mix the water and glue completely.
I'll post a picture of the glue shaker if anyone is interested.
