Thanks, I am going to do a combo of all the suggestions. So my plan now is to add the skin made of tracing paper but torn into pieces so it can have plenty of randomness on the surface, but as flat as possible to keep a smooth look. Also used a little spackle to fill some seams. Especially the seam that runs the length of the rocket.
Attached you can see the images of assembling the smaller tailfin pieces and the pods for the tips of the fins. I made an impromptu stand from the earlier test build. I assembled and attached the pods to the wing tips. Basically the assembly is done now. Onward to the finish!
To prep for the finish, I sanded the joints of the rocket body. Next I will put the tracing paper skin on it.
