Looks good from here Michael. Like the ones in the old Tora Tora Tora movie.
The wheel "knuckles" are probably the hardest for the designers to replicate in paper since they are a spherical cast part on the real plane.
The old maly one from the 70's uses a two part "dome"/petal shape. Fiddler's Green has a one piece deal like your dealing with,
as does the Model Art P40M. I think the late Zio Prudenzati P40s are too.
All depends on how well the part gets shaped to imitate the "ball" form. Yours looks good for 1/100 scale as intended by the designer.
