P-40’s at Pearl Harbor

What an amazing story of two young pilots on December 7th based at a place hardly anyone had ever heard of, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii! They were the best of friends and had been doing what young men do the night before, drinking and playing cards. When their skills were desperately needed they did not hesitate an instant. They jumped into two P-40’s sitting on a remote satellite field and shot down six Japanese planes between them.

This is a S&P repaint by my good FB friend Jeff Orcutt. This is based on a very early S&P kit so it is a little rough. Jeff has done a great job adding details and getting the markings right. Trust me, individual exhaust stacks was a real challenge on this bird. I thought it was kinda cool to display this little guy with a FDR dime since we are approaching the anniversary of the “Day of Infamy”
