Glad to see that you are going to do the Douglas A-24 Banshee (Army Dauntless), Kacper. Its performance in the Pacific wasn't stellar, but it did serve with the 27th Bombardment Group (BG) in Australia (your airplane); the 91st Bombardment Squadron, 27th BG, in Java; and with the 8th Bombardment Squadron, 3rd BG, during the attack on Buna in Papua, New Guinea, in 1944.
The personnel of the 27th BG were sent to the Philippines in November 1941, but their aircraft (transported in a different ship) were diverted to Australia. The commander and air crews were flown to Australia, arriving on Christmas Eve 1941, to pick up their aircraft, but were unable to return to the Philippines and subsequently fought in Australia and Java. The ground crews were trapped on Bataan and formed the 2nd Battalion (27th Bombardment Group), 1st Provisional Air Corps Regiment. They fought until the surrender, when the survivors endured the Bataan Death March and imprisonment until 1945.
