As if it was free.

And unfortunately it is free to to many,
since many of these "designers" are using cracked versions or pirated keys.

The implication is that I use Corel...its expensive...others can't afford what I use to design.
What about GIMP?...it does everything Corel can do...and FOR FREE.
GIMP is a FREE vector based software.
No reason why you can't design in vector based software now.

Pepakura converts. It converts 3D patterns and models into flat 2D templates for paper models.
There really is no design involved.
This UFO was probably designed using some sort of CAD software.
Have you priced CAD software? Unless you are using free pirated software, the cost argument is irrelevant.
Exported CAD files need to be cleaned up in a vector based software...turn those polygons into circles and curves!
Thats the argument I am making.

And FYI...I design in my head...I DO NOT use my software to design at all.
and I do not use 3D CAD design software.
I use a lot of math and imagination.
If you don't know math, I guess you should have paid more attention in school.

If you didn't get to go to school...I apologize.

Only reason not to use is GIMP is laziness....you don't want to learn the software.
Only reason to leave a circular UFO model as a multi sided polygon...is laziness.

You are right...I am coming very close to bashing the designer, as opposed to criticising constructively.
My apologies.
My issue is with the publication of an unfinished model...in my opinion it is unfinished.
The round/circular UFO should be round/circular shape...not a "stop sign".
And I think it would have taken very little effort to have completed it that way.

But my original comment wasn't actually pointed directly at this designer and his UFO model.
It reflected my opinion of many models out there that are unfinished in this way.
And my original comment was directed at all so called "designers" who don't clean up their CAD files!
