All polygonal, lack of real curved cuts.
This is a good point, and something I did not consider.
I still stand beside my statements, but I can see how a polygonal construction might be simpler for a beginner.

In this case however, a round base attached to the smooth outer cone would be no more difficult to assemble.
Even the tab count could stay the same.

Cutting out a circular part can not be considered any more difficult than the polygonal shape?

If the outer Hull was comprised of pie segments, then I could see the relationship to a polygon base.
But its not.
