Back again with an update, but first a big thank you for your reactions, glad you like the result up so far.
@ Isaac: It also crossed my mind to dry brush exhaust fumes on the fuselage when the model is finished and I've been checking pictures on the internet that give a clue as to how the dirt pattern formed on the sides of the aircraft. Think I found a good picture to use as example.
Well, next is the tail wheel and belly fin (or should I say keel?) at the aft part of the aircraft. The fin is a tricky part and I used scrap paper cut in the right shape to create a gluing edge and positioner as the model design hasn't included such. It is indicated where the tail wheel assembly has to be glued later on. I glued the fin exactly on the fuselage where indicated but found that it is about half a millimeter too short at the back end, as you can see in especially the fifth picture.
The tail wheel suspension is centered and reinforced by a thin metal pin but in the way Orlik has designed it, this will start to sag in no time when completed. So I ran a metal thread all the way through the wheel, the suspension and through the fuselage, into where the vertical stabilizer fin will be located. It's a bit fiddling with the parts that make up the entire assembly but the result is a very stable tail wheel.
The wheel's assembly is placed approximately 1 millimeter aft of the original position as it simply wouldn't fit otherwise due to the protruding anti-torque link. I turned the wheel slightly to the right rather than gluing it straight underneath the fuselage. Looks more interesting.
Finally, the former or central spine of the tail fin. The instruction drawings do not provide much details of its exact position and I eventually concluded that the position in which it has been glued is the only correct one.
The last two pictures show the result of the build up so far. By using PowerPoint I removed the background from the second last picture and superimposed it on one of the instruction drawings. There's almost an exact overlap, except for a slight mismatch on either side because of the picture perspective
