USS Maryland BB-46 (1944)

I've been thinking about some kind of new scratch project for quite a long time and finally I found the subject.
When I had registered to Papermodelers, I said that ships of the Pacific War are my favorite subjects. And that's true. Unfortunately there're not too many rare, interesting and unique examples available in paper.

As the title says I'll build USS Maryland BB-46 (as it appeared in 1944) completely from scratch. I don't really like these old American battleships in their original look but I love them from WWII period, after modernizations.

I'm not sure about the scale yet... Probably 1/800 or 1/900.
BB-46 will be a waterline model with small base/diorama.

I'll keep you informed about the WIP and I hope to make first serious steps in the coming days.

Wish me luck with this project.

This should be also a good source of informations:
