I have never seen an authentic color overhead photograph of Maryland. Paintings, colorized photographs, and models vary - some show natural wood decks, some show light gray.
According to Larry Sowinski and Tom Walkowiak, United States Navy Camouflage of the WW2 Era (Philadelphia, PA: Floating Drydock, 1976), quoting U.S. Navy publications, all the 1944 and 1945 camouflage schemes called for all horizontal surfaces except for carrier flight decks to be Deck Blue (Color 20-B).
