Here in Africa many of the older Art Deco styled buildings were still around - in the smaller airports up-country.
Over time a lot has fallen into disrepair as the airports ceased to function or have been modernised (but only over the last 20 odd years).
In remoter troubled areas I am sure they still exist.
Unfortunately, in most places, it was forbidden to photograph airport structures or building, so few records probably exist.
There are quite a few interesting books also on modern airport architecture - I will dig them up and post the details.
