On to the final stages
Picture 1 This shows the body with Axlebox Assembly now attached.
Picture 2 The wagon underside touched up at this stage with watercolours, with the wheels waiting to go on.
Picture 3 The underside complete.
In this picture...
- I have now attached the Headstocks at either end on the underside.
- The buffer heads are cut out and by my finger.
- I have started sanding a toothpick to make the buffers themselves. Still a bit more sanding.
Picture 4 Here the buffers and buffer heads are now attached. They are still drying in this picture, and after I took the photo I straightened them up as they set.
Picture 5 and 6 To complete the model assembly, the stanchions need to be glued to each end these are indicated by the red arrows in Picture 5. I pre-painted the edges before attaching them.
